There's been a lot of speculation about this, and we want to assure you that no hacking has been involved. When the admins were deleting old posts and doing some clean-up, stickied threads were deleted as well. It was a total accident and no dastardly deeds were committed. We are actively working to reconstruct and regain the data to the best of our capabilities. This won't be immediate, it will take time because of the amount of work involved. We are doing the best we can with the resources we have available to us and apologize for any inconveniences.
If you have hard or saved copy of any of the data that is missing, please let one of us know as soon as possible. That is much easier than reconstruction.
Also, if you are aware of any threads that appear to be missing, please list them here. So far we are aware of:
1. Cleveland Indians 2008 Offseason Thread (recovered) 2. 07-08 NFL (partially recovered) 3. Posting Guidelines (recovered) 4. 2007-08 Browns Season 5. 2007 Ohio State Football 6. NBA Fantasy Draft 7. The Career Top 10 Tracker (partially recovered) 8. Most of the threads in the International Forum 9. Cleveland Indians Playoffs thread 10. The AV sticky in Team Talk (partially recovered) 11. Cavs All-Time Playoff Leaders (partially recovered) 12. Cavaliers Uniform History (text only so far) 13. Cavaliers All-Time Roster (partially recovered) 14. Cavaliers All-Time Team 15. The Office thread 16. The Official Movie thread 17. The Chat Room thread 18. Cavaliers Video Project 19. The Dunk Videos thread 20. Fantasy Football help 21. Substitute one letter (Got the last page-- can we just pick it up there, Wham?)

Isn't there some kind of backup system? We are actively working to reconstruct and regain the data to the best of our capabilities.
Is the whole AV thread really gone? 10. The AV sticky in Team Talk (partially recovered)
Is there still a problem with stickied threads?
No, there is no problem with new stickied threads or the ones that currently featured. This was a deletion error, not a software malfunction. The problem isn't so much data recovery as formatting. We're working on it as we can.
Stickied threads are alright......but.....I think that after reaching a certain level they should be deleted (or archived) and start fresh ones.
What happened by accident, I feel, actually improved the forum.
A 500 plus thread is a pain in the ****. I don't have the time or inclination to go back and review all that has been said on the subject. Please consider not trying to reconstruct the old ones.
Also please consider deleteing the stickied threads after they reach some figure like 100-200-or 300. I think it would make it easier to follow a subject in a fresh way. Thanks for your consideration.
Once again, I agree with you Ro. I'd rather talk about the Indians and Browns when stuff comes up. A new thread for each signing and what not. I don't like looking into a big stickied thread to see what has or hasn't been discussed. I don't see any real reason to have a Browns Season Thread. Let's just discuss the Browns when big news breaks out.
I'm betting some people don't even venture into the stickied threads because of the reasons Ro stated. I know I hardly ever look in the stickied threads because there's too many pages to navigate and it seems that the discussion is only with a select few. I think there would be more discussion on a topic if it was it's own seperate thread instead of coralling everything Indians related into one stickied thread. Just my thoughts.
I'm not a big fan of excessively long threads either, so I hear where you're coming from. And when it comes down to resource allocation for this, I seriously doubt things that went on a long time and meandered will become a priority in "recovery" work. We just don't have that much time to go around.
But there were threads that contained a lot of work, data and history and were more "resources" then "threads." Many were in the Cavaliers History Forum, but not all were. And we lost some significant data sources in the mod forum. We're fortunate we have that info stored elsewhere but not all in one place. So we're in this boat too. Anyway, those "resource" threads-- the ones that represent a serious amount of work and research-- should take priority imho and we should make a strong effort to recover them. The others we may just have to accept that a human mistake was made. We'll see-- we're all still working on it.
I want to point something else out too that will help you with viewing threads. You may already know, but maybe not.
When you click on The Q Sports Forums homepage, there are blue city icons in the top left corner. If you click on that when you log in, it will automatically display new content. And, of course, you can view new content since your last visit by making that choice under the "FIND" tab.
