It doesn't look like Dale P. will be back. I hope Dupuis is back and healthy, he was sorely missed at the end of the year. The roster should start to shape up after the draft and subsequent trades.

Heck ya we'll need him...we need some good defense because wall cant keep the puck from going into the net. he sucked last season and didnt really step up till weinman was hurt.... and even then it was pretty much a gareenteed loss when he was between the pipes. hes a great guy but we gotta find a stable goalie..and wall isnt right for it. sorry hes one that i wouldnt be upset if he doesnt show up next year. ha

isnt wall a free agent after this season? cant remember. i dont know who will be back, we will see. i dont know enough about jillson to make an accurate call but vernace we can do without.
If Jillson would have done his job, maybe Mike wouldnt have had to work so hard. He is a 3 strikes and out here in Cleveland. Mike had a good streak of games in the middle of the season. He is a free agent as of now. I think he will be the odd man out. I also dont believe Cash will be back here either, depending on the situation in Colorado with Jose and Budaj. There are some up and comers in the system too, and I am sure they will get a shot come camp time.. We will just have to wait and see.
Wall is a free agent =( but im hoping he will come back.
heres my problem with jillson. when he was in clevland with the barons.. he sayed he didnt want to be here that he hated it here. then this year i kind of noticed that he basically sucks. i saw him at least twice kick the puck into our net. that was two games we could have won. he really isnt a good player. he messes up a lot. i will admit there are some games where he does play pretty good... but not really lol. oh and the 2 times ive met him.. he was a *****. so i really hope he doesnt come back.
well goalie dad yea we need good offense but we need better goalies...the point is to protect the goal and when defense cant do it then the goalie does. and wall lacked that.is definitly blame to. all of our gaolies did. but wall was horrible in the beginning of the season there would be times where i would pray wall didnt play. yes he had a good streak but just a little one. ive been to every game this season and i know what i saw and wall is definitly not a good or great goalie. hes asemi decent. defense isnt all jillsons fault. its everyone. everyone needs to step up, so dont even say if jillson would have done his job. HOW ABOUT EVERYONE DO THIER JOB INCLUDING THE GOALIE...GOALIE DAD! Goalies are just as much to blame as defense. goalies are supposed to stand there and look pretty, they are supposed to protect and not alot did that this year.
as for jillson in person. ive never had a problem with him...everyone says hes a ******** and stuff but maybe you just catch him at the wrong time. ive met him at least 4 or 5 times and never had a single bad moment with him. hes always been really nice and can take a joke to. i told him he needs a new hat cause hes a boston fan and we had a friendly joking debate over it. ive never had a problem and even outside the rink ive been at a bar that he was at and talked to him and he was super nice and polite. it;s really all about timing and how you treat him. he could be mad that everyone says rude comments to him or about him and he figures if no one cares then whay should i... but he knows i cheer for him cause im always the row behind the bench cheering him on. i always have signs or shirts or stuff so he knows im there. so maybe hes just nice to me cause i actually give a crap about him and hope he does well and cheer him on. but its cool if no one does. theres not enouigh room for to be a jillson fan. one or 2 fans is enough.

okay first off, we do need a better defensive core. the reason our goalies couldnt do better was because the other teams would have a shooting gallery and when the oppostion gets off between 50-60 shots a game like has been all year some of the are going to go in, including soft goals. so i am not disagreeing with you saying that its EVERYBODY'S fault because it is but dont say we dont have good goalies, now maybe wall wont be here next season, maybe he will who knows. we will see what happens next season. also not to sound like an a-hole but you're grammer is not good, sometimes i cant understand what you're writing (this is just constructive criticism that is all dont take it the wrong way) because hockey is a TEAM sport not an individual sport like golf so i don't think that jillson is the only fault we have because it isnt.
I would like to see stats on how many blocked shots the Monsters had. Like was said in post above, if the goalie is seeing 50-60 shots a game, then the defense is not doing its job. And that goes for the forwards too, if they are not stopping the initial rush it breaks down from there.. No way should any goalie see 50 shots on a consistant basis. I was at about 30 games, ones that didnt conflict with my sons's schedule, and Jillson caused more turnovers. leading to points than anybody I can recall. I too have met him, not just this season, but also when he was a Baron. He is a nice guy , always was approachable, but that doesnt make up for the weakness on the ice.
well i really dont care about my grammer....i do have good grammer but sometimes i type so fast and dont go back to correct them. ive seen people with even worst grammer on here. this to me isnt a term paper or a resume so i really dont care about my gammer when on here.
and secondly...well in those 30 games did you ever see the other defensement because last i checked jillson wasnt the only defensemen on the team. everyone is weak on the ice...which gives them room to improve. but im just making a point that our defense problems arent all jillson its everyone...so instead of naming names or pointing fingers at only certain players...try the whole team. each player has a weekness on the ice they have to improve on but they all dont lose the game for everyone. thier team so they lose and win as a team. a team constist of the centers, the right and left wings, defensemen, and goalies. and goalies have thier share at part of the loses to.

wow, we have other defencemen, when did that happen? YES i know we have other defencemen and the WHOLE defence is the problem, i thought i made that CLEAR in my other post. once again hockey is a team sport, not an individual sport like golf. i wasnt trying to bring you down with the grammer thing. i was just trying to be honest, sometimes its just really hard to understand what you are trying to convey, i too type really fast but i try to look over my post before sending it.
In answer to the original question, I would like to see Healy, Smith, Richardson, Love, Boychuk, and Dupuis back next year. All contributed in a positive way -- especially at the end of the year when the veterans were producing while the prospects were floating at both bluelines instead of stepping up. Of those six, I only anticipate Healy, Love and Dupuis to be here because of contract status, and then it may be at the players' discretion. I'm hoping the leadership sticks around. Montgomery looked solid in his few games at the end of the season and will be a welcome addition.
Hensick isn't on my list because T.J. has earned his permanent ticket to Denver.
Goalies are moot until Colorado decides what they are going to do. It would be nice to watch Weiman play healthy for a year, but if Theodore isn't renewed Budaj will need a backup.
It will be intersting to see who Oliver signs over the summer.
yea well hansons...not be rude but i wasnt talking to you in my post. so... dont have an atittude with me when i wasnt directing my post towards you at all.
second. again i dont care if you like my grammer or not. if its not ment for you then it should matter. i have better things to do then to look over my post like 100 times to make sure i spelled every word correctly. you don't do a good job either because i found a few mistakes in your post as well.
im not trying to get an atitude with you but you seem like your tryin to pick a fight. like citizing my gammer then like getting attitude with me cause im making a point that is not directed towards you. im sorry.
also i know what sports are team sports and what not...i play sports so i got a good idea which is team sport. so the tlaking down to could stop. again like im sorry if i seem rude, im not or not trying to be. its just the way my words are coming out plus i am insulted by the way you have to critize me. there really isn't no need for that. its rude.
____________________________________________________________ Go Monsters!
i dont have an attitude with you at all. i was only giving some constructive criticism that is all, i even told you "not to take it the wrong way" evidently you are the one that has a problem with it. i too play sports, been playing hockey for a very long time (rec. league and pickup games) and i also know what a team sport is. our whole defence is the problem not just jillson or even jillson. if you would look in another thread i said "evidently he doesnt suck because colorado resigned him" so i have no problem with him, i've never met him so i can't tell you what kind of person he is. i'm sure he is a very nice guy. i am sorry if i offended you with the grammar and i know i make mistakes, i'm not perfect either but you have to be able to take some criticism.
okay first off, we do need a better defensive core. the reason our goalies couldnt do better was because the other teams would have a shooting gallery and when the oppostion gets off between 50-60 shots a game like has been all year some of the are going to go in
Amen. The entire defensive core is weak as a whole but that is normal for what the Avs are going thru as an expansion team and with their lack of prospects right now. The D showed some improvement thru the year thanks to Sly and should get better next year with more top end prospects and the learning curve.
sorry for the attitude...but i thought it was rude to give criticism to someone like that. which i never said you did. im sorry if things got out of control and i dont mean to but i just thought it was rude. i really am not trying to fight with you or anything and i do take critism well, i just might have read that wrong or was not in the best of mood when i read it. i do apologize on my behalf
but maybe you can answer my question since nobody has.... jillson being on waivers then resinged... is he signed throughout next season to with the avs or was it just for the rest of the season? honestly nobody has answered this. if you could answer that. i would really appreciate it cause its driving me crazy.

I agree with you on who you would like to see back next season. What is the status on Healey, Love and Dupuis? Thanks!

the monsters weren't really an expansion team. most of those guys played in albany the previous year. they had new coaches and new office staff. the cleveland office staff has nothing to do with the on-ice play, it's all out of denver.
our defense honks. we have one defenseman who could pull a few shifts in the NHL (Mitch Love), but he's an offensive defenseman. we don't really have a consistent blue liner (Denisov is okay, Vernace is decent in the role). the biggest problem with the on-ice play is that we are affiliated with colorado. even if they were healthy and not betting the farm on aging guys with chronic issues, their offensive scheme of run and gun without much D really shows when they play a team that exploits their weaknesses. when the monsters play a team with a solid offense or a d that can pick pucks, it looks like the wings/avs series.

Ned, I agree with you for the most part, except that the Monsters were basically an expansion team. They had less than half a team in Albany last year and with all the free agent signings the team was basically just thrown together. Sure, it's nitpicky but I believe the phrase used by the brass was "for all intents and purposes, we are an expansion team". I tried to capture the spirit of the thing.
"when the monsters play a team with a solid offense or a d that can pick pucks, it looks like the wings/avs series." Couldnt have said it better myself.
Bacashihua and Weiman will be with Colorado next year. Budaj & Theodore are both UFA (At least this is what I was told) Both want $6 million. Wall will be our #1 and the other 2 will be up with Colorado. So, our growing pains with Wall this year will turn into our strength for next year. I am looking for both Weiman & Cash to be goalies in the NHL next year either with the Avs or for someone else.

Wall is a UFA also.. I think that Budaj is under contract.. Jose definitely is UFA.. i agree Cash and Weiman may be somewhere else, just not in Cleveland.
