Okay - since my two favorite teams (rochester and lake erie) didn't make the playoffs, my thoughts are turning to my next choice to win. Actually, i don't have a preference, as long as its not Syracuse. Those fans are terrible. Who is everyones choice to win?

My pick was Toronto - they are just solid at both ends of the ice and all around. They probably could have scored ten goals easily in a couple of those games against the Monsters if they kept going all out.

Toronto did seem like the most professional outfit we played all year. They may not have crushed us as badly as Manitoba, but they had a presence like they could have done worse, but didn't. I think they have a shot.

playoffs are another animal - the game becomes more mental. if manitoba goes out and HITS a lot, that could throw the marlies off their game and then who knows.

that said, toronto was the best team I saw this season. I'd expect them to go all the way IF they continue to play with the same consistency.

I think Toronto could have made the Stanley Cup playoffs. By far and away the best team in the AHL...
They should have had these guys play for the Leafs and not the Marlies..

I just found out that Marlie is a person who lives in Marlborough.

theres no way that the marlies could of made the NHL playoffs. Thats like saying that OSU can beat the browns.

i mean if the leafs can't make the postseason I doubt there crop can.

the leafs were mismanaged. they had too much talent in the AHL and not enough healthy talent in the bigs. sundin can't do it alone.

i think sundin is done with his tenure with toronto, which would be a shame. i like toronto and i think next season they should be better with some of the marlies talent moving up to the leafs. we will see next season, but it would be nice to see toronto win the cup!

off topic, but how well did grand rapids work with detroit this year in cycling in talent? the griffins did okay (not great), but seeing mccarty and helm in postseason was cool.

I think the AHL and NHL are a little closer than the NFL and College Football. Plus, up until a couple of years ago, the BUCKEYES would have beat the Browns and Bengals.
I was saying TORONTO is too good in their AHL Program to MISS THE PLAYOFFS. Meaning, they loaded thier AHL Team to make the playoffs to get experience in the playoffs, not taking care of their NHL team.
