Lake Erie Monsters (14-21-2-6) vs. Rochester Americans (12-30-2-4)
Date: Saturday, January 26th
Time: 7:30 p.m. ET
Arena: Quicken Loans Arena
Radio: Listen live here to ESPN 850 WKNR
Webcast: Live through B2

Saturday's Quick Facts:
These two teams are finishing a back-to-back home-and-home tonight. The Monsters defeated the Amerks in Rochester last night, 4-3, in a shootout. The win gave Lake Erie the 2-1 season series advantage. The last time the two teams met in Cleveland, Tyler Weiman and the Monsters shut out the Amerks, 3-0, on December 29th.

The Monsters found themselves down 3-0 after just one period last night, but went on to stage the biggest comeback in franchise history. Lake Erie scored three unanswered goals in the second to tie it up, and after a scoreless third period and overtime, the game went to the shootout.

Lake Erie has now played four consecutive games in either overtime or shootout. They have gone 1-1 in OT and 1-1 in shootouts during that span. Weiman was in goal for both wins. He has started 10 of the last 12 for Lake Erie.

they looked really good for 2/3rds of the game. luckily, it was only the first period where they tanked.

i can't stop thinking about the incredibly cheap shot in the third. about a minute and a half left, rochester were down by 5 and someone nailed a slapshot into the back of vladimir denisov when he was down on the ice. right in the back, dead on. that's what made mitch love drop his gloves, and the more i think about it, the more right on that was.

i hope next thanksgiving, chris stewart tells his brother he's got some ***** for teammates.

man, what a game! first off they were flat in the 1st which is usually their best period and only registered two shots, one of the shots i think was questionable. i wasnt expecting what happened in the 2nd period, and then in the 3rd the americans changed goalies and even that didnt help.
i am glad they finally found the scoring but after the 5th goal i started feeling bad for rochester, i am glad the monsters won and how big they won. that is why the americans started taking cheap shots and taking bad penalites, i was kinda floored that one of the americans didnt get a penaly for taking denisov down but love gets one for helping out a teammate. **** i even saw the stewart brothers almost go at it at the end.
great win hope they can keep it up against san antonio.

I don't mean to complain but one thing really bothered me about this game. My season tickets are in 125 and I noticed on all 7 goals nobody was standing up cheering, everyone just sat there and maybe clapped or did nothing. And alot of people on that side of the ice didn't stand and cheer either. Makes no sense, they aren't going to score 7 every game so I appreciate every goal they score by at least standing up and clapping.

everyone around me in 126c was standing, myself included.

this year especially there seems to be a lot of hockey tourists as opposed to hockey fans. it'll happen. i can't imagine anyone staying glued to their seat when the home team scores 7 goals. when purinton scored an assist, i was hoping so hard he'd get a gordie howe hat trick. no dice.
